Automatic page refresh
Configure automatic page refresh
re-queries supported live data; and have different source and capacity support.
Refresh a live report page automatically

keeps an active report page current without waiting for a refresh. refreshes the page on a cadence. polls one and refreshes visuals only when its value changes.
Change detection uses and is supported in the service only with suitable dedicated capacity. Service settings can also enforce minimum intervals.
Fixed interval or change detection?
Use fixed interval when the page should re-query on a regular cadence. Use change detection when Power BI should poll a DirectQuery measure and refresh visuals only after that measure changes.
Both are page-refresh features, not semantic-model Import refresh. Capacity and service settings can also limit how frequently refreshes run after publishing.
Exam clue: near-real-time report page updates point to automatic page refresh, not an Import .
