Single aggregation apply one aggregation and recalculate within the current .
One reusable calculation

Total Sales = SUM(Sales[SalesAmount])
A is evaluated when a visual queries it. The same measure therefore returns different results for product, year, or region because the changes.
Pick the aggregation from the question
| Need | Function |
|---|---|

| Average numeric values | AVERAGE |
| Count table rows | |
| Count different values | |
| Find smallest or largest value | MIN or MAX |
Choose the function that matches what must be counted or summarized, not merely the .
Measure or implicit aggregation?
A named measure is reusable model logic. Dragging a numeric column into a visual and choosing Sum creates an implicit aggregation for that visual only.
Exam clue: reusable business calculation = measure; one-off visual summarization = implicit aggregation.
Key points
- SUM and AVERAGE: aggregate numeric columns
- : counts table rows
- : counts different column values
- : reusable across visuals
