The CALCULATE function
Use the CALCULATE function
evaluates an expression after modifying its .
CALCULATE changes the filter context

Blue Sales =
CALCULATE(
[Total Sales],
Product[Color] = "Blue"
)
first takes an expression, then evaluates it under filters modified by its remaining arguments. This is the foundation for filtered totals, percentages, switching and many time calculations.
Use to clear filters, to intersect instead of replace, and to activate an for that calculation.
Understand how filter arguments behave
A filter argument can replace an existing filter on the same column. Use KEEPFILTERS when the new condition should intersect with the existing selection instead. Use REMOVEFILTERS when the calculation must ignore a filter, and USERELATIONSHIP when it must use an inactive relationship for this evaluation.
The exam often tests which kind of context change is required, not just whether CALCULATE is present.
Exam clue: “evaluate this under different filters” usually means CALCULATE.
