Create a report page with Copilot

Start in the Copilot pane

Describe the analytical goal and the data you want on the page. Copilot chooses fields and visual types to create a starting layout. The semantic model's Q&A feature switch must be enabled for report creation and editing.

Give Copilot enough context

A useful prompt states the business question, the measures or dimensions that matter, and the kind of comparison or trend the page should communicate. Copilot works from the semantic model, so clear model names and measures improve the result.

Review the generated page

Treat the generated page as a draft. Follow-up prompts can add, change, or remove visuals, but final formatting, accessibility, interactions, and storytelling still need report-author judgment.

Some model configurations are unsupported, including scenarios where the required Q&A capability or implicit-measure behavior is unavailable.
